French Wines
Today's wine world considers the wines of France as classics; where traditions, history and experience form the backbone of French winemaking. In spite of France's fame there are still gems and good value wines to be found.
France is home to most styles of wines, from the luxurious old bubbles of Champagne to the ultra powerful red wines of Medoc. Afterall, Bordeaux alone produced as much wine as the whole of Australia. Difference being France's refusal to waiver with the whims of fashion and consequently does not suffer from over-production.
We aim to scour France to bring you an ecclectic range of daily drinking wines and collectibles.

5. Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl (375ml) 2009

'...the Zind-Humbrecht 2009 Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl is scented and loads the palate with overripe melon, persimmon, marzipan, and caramel, spiced with clove and cinnamon. ....there is an admirable sense of purity as well as a soothing polish and alluring creaminess on display, extending to a prodigious finish. As with its Rangen counterpart, this should remain fresh for at least 12-15 years..'David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate 91 pts

12. Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Clos Windsbuhl 2009

The Clos Windsbuhl benefits from a late ripening climate, enhanced by the proximity of the forest and higher altitude. This was also the last Riesling vineyard to be harvested on the estate in 2009.
